About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead strategic partnerships and initiatives in the alternative lending industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing revenue growth strategies, cultivating relationships with referral partners and direct business borrowers nationwide, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance co-marketing and partner enablement. This role requires a leader who can maintain industry expertise, travel to meet prospects and partners, and work closely with the Chief Revenue Officer to align business development goals. Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Business Development include identifying and establishing partnerships with referral sources, developing direct borrower relationships, and mentoring the business development team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience, a proven track record in fintech, commercial lending, or financial services, and strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Experience in building strategic partnerships, growing loan origination pipelines, and proficiency with CRM tools like Salesforce are essential. The role demands the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and a willingness to travel as needed. An existing portfolio of referral partners or relationships within the SMB lending ecosystem is preferred.
