PHP is seeking a travel nurse RN Outpatient Surgery for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Core Responsibilities

These duties are fundamental to the role. Candidates must be able to perform them—with or without reasonable accommodation—to remain eligible for the position.

• Provide comprehensive care for an assigned group of patients.
• Accurately document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; update records with any changes in physician orders.
• Support physicians during patient examinations and assist with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Collect and monitor patients’ physiological data, observe clinical signs, and intervene when necessary.
• Administer prescribed medications and manage intravenous infusions and blood product administration.
• Deliver safe, effective, and competent patient care.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Educate patients and families on hospital policies and procedures.
• Refer patients to appropriate healthcare personnel based on care needs.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.

🛠️ General Responsibilities

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

🕒 Schedule Details

• Four 10-hour shifts per week: 4:45 AM – 3:15 PM.
• Closed on weekends and major holidays.
• Primary focus: Pre-operative care for surgical and interventional radiology patients.

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Strong understanding of nursing theory, practices, and procedures.
• Proven ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Sensitivity to cultural and language differences among patients and visitors.
• Basic computer proficiency.

🎓 Education Requirements

Required:

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.

📜 Licensure & Certifications

• Active RN license from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a valid multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
