Overview Join to apply for the Oral Surgery Assistant role at Boston Children's Hospital . Position Summary: This role provides technical support to Dentists and Surgeons during Plastic and Oral Surgery procedures by assisting with patient care, preparing instruments and materials, taking radiographs and impressions, and monitoring vital signs. The position also includes responsibilities for maintaining a sterile environment, giving post-operative instructions, and embodying the hospital's core values in all patient and team interactions. New hires may be eligible for a $1,500.00 sign on bonus. This position will support our Boston and Waltham Clinics. Schedule: 4 ten-hour shifts, Monday-Friday. Key Responsibilities Assist Dentists and Surgeons during oral and plastic surgery procedures, including passing instruments, monitoring vital signs, and supporting patient care under various types of anesthesia. Prepare patients, instruments, and materials for examinations and procedures, ensuring readiness and compliance with clinical protocols. Obtain and process diagnostic materials, such as radiographs, dental impressions, and study models. Provide post-operative instructions and routine patient education to ensure proper follow-up and recovery. Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and clinical areas to uphold infection control and safety standards. Education Minimum Qualifications: HS diploma/GED Experience Up to one year of basic technical education or at least one year of on the job training. License/Certifications BLS certification or CPR/AED certification Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) by the Dental Assistant National Board (DANB).
