Title - Quality Assurance Supervisor

Tenure - Full Time, Permanent

Location: LaVergne, TN

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts

Workplace Type - Onsite

About the Role

We are seeking a  Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead initiatives that ensure regulatory compliance, product integrity, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader passionate about quality systems and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and ensure effective implementation of monitoring programs for food safety and quality.
  • Establish and enforce procedures for  SQF, FDA, HACCP, GMP, and state regulatory compliance across manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, and sanitation.
  • Maintain familiarity with 21 CFR 111 and 117 (cGMP guidelines)and apply to daily operations.
  • Direct and deliver training for staff on GMPs, GDPs, HACCP, and SQF programs.
  • Create, implement, and oversee sanitation programs for equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and execute  third-party testing processes for raw materials, WIPs, and finished products.
  • Manage approved supplier/vendor programs, regulatory audits, customer claims, and validation processes.
  • Investigate deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee pest control compliance in partnership with pest management vendors.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess and improve quality control measures.
  • Create and update SOPs, documentation, and Food Safety Management Systems.
  • Train and audit teams on allergen control, sanitation, pest control, and warehouse facility safety.
  • Maintain thorough documentation to meet  federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a decision-maker on matters related to food safety.
  • Lead, coach, and develop FSQA staff while partnering with HR on staffing needs.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and set clear expectations for direct reports.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a cGMP and SQF/GFSI-recognized facility.
  • Proven experience with certifications including  cGMP, HACCP, and SQF Practitioner.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of staff development and team building.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with  Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, SharePoint preferred).
  • Professional, solution-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related field preferred.
