About the Role

The Company is seeking a new Chair for its Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This leadership role is pivotal in driving the department's strategy to advance its clinical, research, and education missions in the context of cancer care. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department and will have the opportunity to build on a rich legacy in psycho-oncology. Key responsibilities include honing and articulating a clear mission and vision for the next three to five years, and leading a team to ensure excellence in psychiatric clinical service, research, and education. Applicants for the Chair position at the company should be accomplished physician leaders with an MD or MD/PhD in psychiatry, board certification, and a strong background in psychiatric and psychosocial aspects of cancer. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of administrative and leadership experience in an academic or cancer center setting, with a preference for those who have served as a Chair or Section/Division Chief. National and international prominence in psychiatry, particularly in the area of consultation-liaison psychiatry, is highly valued. The role requires a commitment to the company's mission and the ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment. The new Chair will be expected to have a significant presence in the New York City area and to occasionally visit the company's regional network sites.
